In august 2019, Angel Gaylor purchased Sweeper World of Terre Haute Indiana from her father. The store first opened in 1987 and Angel has been managing it since 1999. When Angel became pregnant and couldn’t lift Kirby vacuums onto the bench anymore,
her and her father hired her husband to do repairs.
When Angel was growing up her father was able to afford to send her and her three sisters to college. Angel ended up graduating with no debt because she even won the VDTA scholarship program in 2000. She hopes to raise and bless her five children as much as her parents blessed her.
Once Angel purchased the store from her father, she began selling Nellie’s Wow Mops. They have the display right next to the cash register and they feel that they do quite well with the product line. They ask every customer when they get to the register if they have carpet or bare floors. Angel says,
“I haven't had a person who doesn't have some type of barefloors. After I ring them up or while I'm in the process, my husband or I say can we show you something that you can't live without. It has been a life-changer for our family. Usually, everyone wants something to make their life easier. So, they let us turn it on and they mop our floor for us. They almost always say wow that's amazing. Then they ask how much. Sometimes they say, I'll take one. Sometimes they take a picture and send it to their husband for Christmas.”
Since the middle of August Sweeper World has sold 40+ Wow Mops. Sweeper World also offers a package deal for $250 which includes 1 Wow Mop 1 set of extra pads, 1 bottle of floor care, 1 tin of wooly dryerballs, 1 bottle of toilet bowl cleaner, 1 Wow Stain Stick and 1 sample of Laundry Soda and oxygen brightener. This is a great deal for her customers and gets them to try a lot of different products. This strategy will help bring more customers back into the store in the future for refills and gifts for others.
We look forward to continuing to work with Angel and her family.
