Vac Shack of Alexandria Louisiana has been in business since 1972 and has been family owned by Al Ruoppoli for the past 33 years. His business excels by treating their customers like family.

“I tell all my coworkers to greet customers at the door and thank them for shopping local and always carry out their machine. We do not let our customers leave carrying their machines out. When they say that isn’t necessary we just kindly respond by saying this isn’t Wal-Mart, we care about our customers.”

Vac Shack has been selling Nellie’s Wow Mop for several months now. Ruoppoli first discovered the products on the Facebook group, “Vacuum Talk With the Pros” and thanks the group for introducing the product to them. The Wow Mop has given them a great impulse item to sell to customers who just pop in for bags or as an add on to a vacuum purchase. In the day and age of AMAZON this has helped given them something to sell and boost their bottom line.

Ruoppoli believes the best thing to do with the Wow Mop is to just show it to every customer that walks in. He believes they aren’t taking an aggressive approach and forcing their customers to buy that day. If a customer doesn’t buy the mop that day he always lets them know that the next time they mop, they will for sure think of his business. He feels strongly that more times than not them come back and purchase.

Vac Shack has put marketing dollars into the Wow Mop as well, posting ads on Facebook and boosting posts and the money spent has been worthwhile. “It’s funny when I am out a store or restaurant and someone stops me to ask about the Wow Mop.”

He plans to launch a large media campaign this Christmas season proclaiming that the Wow Mop is the hottest and best gift. “Think about it what person doesn’t mop their floors?”
